This amazing punk tee was created for the iconic English punk band The Damned, who were the first British punk band to ever play at the legendary club CBGB. They also became the first UK punk band to release a studio album, with their 1977 record Damned Damned Damned. This shirt was made a few years after their landmark trip to the US, for their 1980 Tour.
Around this time the band began to shift more towards a gothic rock style, which was perfectly exemplified by lead singer Dave Vanian's vampiric appearance. They also adopted a new bassist, Paul Gray, who had formerly been a member of Eddie and the Hot Rods, and they released their fourth studio album, The Black Album. The album's tour was launched by the fall of 1980 and it featured an opening set from the 1970s street punk band, The Straps.
The Damned would continue to explore their evolving gothic rock style and release three more albums by the end of the 80s. While the group had a rotating lineup of members over the years, 1988 saw the group play several reunion gigs with all four founding members: Dave Vanian, Rat Scabies, Brian James, and Captain Sensible. One of the shows from this series was recorded and released as the live album Final Damnation.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. This shirt is very soft and thin with a small hole near the collar, see pics.
