This sweet vintage tee is merchandise from the Beastie Boys' Quadraphonic Stereo Tour from 1995. The Beastie Boys were at the height of their popularity around this time, having released Ill Communication and headlined Lollapalooza the year before. This tour was a big commercial success with their New York and Chicago shows selling out in under 30 minutes.
The Beastie Boys were formed by Adam "MCA" Yauch, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, and Michael "Mike D" Diamond in 1981 in New York City. They skyrocketed to fame in the 80s as a comedy hip hop group. The trio garnered the attention of Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons at the inception of Def Jam record label.
The Beastie Boys were always about evolving their sound. Originally the group was formed as a punk band, but through the 80s they played hip hop, and during the 90s they continued exploring the boundaries of varying musical genres. Ill Communication debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and included hits such as "Sabotage","Root Down" and "Get It Together".
