This awesome concert t-shirt is for the heavy metal band Body Count and their 1993-1994 Mass Murder Tour. This band is often remembered for its lead vocalist, Ice-T, who co-founded the group alongside guitarist Ernie C in the early 90s. Ice -T was already famous for his successful rap career when he decided to explore this new musical genre. The band made their live debut during the1991 Lollapalooza festival, and Ice-T chose to do half of his set performing classic hip hop selections, and the other half performing with Body Count.
Not long before the Mass Murder Tour was launched, the group gained some controversial attention for the 1992 song "Cop Killer" which was released on their self-titled debut album. The song was intended to criticize corrupt police officers but was misinterpreted as an attack on the entire police force. The Dallas Police Association and Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas launched a campaign to force Warner Brothers to withdraw the record, which spread across the nation. Eventually Ice-T did agree to remove the song of his own volition, and it was replaced by a new version of the song "Freedom of Speech".
