This vintage tourist shirt is for the town of Chicken located in Southeast Fairbanks Census Area, Alaska. The shirt shows off a gorgeous depiction of the Alaskan wilderness with a pair of moose enjoying a serene lake. Chicken is one of the few surviving gold rush towns and it has a notably small population with an average of 17 inhabitants year round. The shirt also features an image of a ptarmigan, a game bird often found in the area. The ptarmigan was actually the inspiration behind the town's unusual name, however since a proper spelling for the bird couldn't be decided, they settled on the name Chicken instead.
