This double-sided tee pays tribute to the 1995 science fiction adventure film Congo, and it also features a logo for the popular soft drink Pepsi on the front along with the tagline "Nothing Else is a Pepsi". The movie had a promotional deal with Pepsi, and during the mid 90s, a tie-in commercial was aired in which a gorilla attempted to communicate its desire for a Pepsi to a group of scientists.

Congo was directed by Frank Marshall, one of the founders of Amblin Entertainment alongside Steven Spielberg. Congo was only Marshall's third time in the director's chair, and the movie managed to earn him a nomination for both Best Director at the Saturn Awards and Worst Director at the Razzies. The movie was actually nominated for several other Golden Raspberry Awards and was panned by critics, but still performed well financially and was even number one at the US box office during its opening weekend.

Despite its poor reviews, the movie is still favorable to some fans. It was loosely based on a novel of the same name written by Michael Crichton, who is well-celebrated for his book Jurassic Park. The movie also featured a handful of beloved cult actors such as Ernie Hudson, Tim Curry, and Bruce Campbell.
