While Piazza went on to play for several different MLB teams, he began his professional career with the Dodgers in 1992. Celebrated as one of the best offensive catchers in baseball history, Piazza was a 12-time All Star and 10-time recipient of the Silver Slugger Award.  

In 1993, he was named the National League Rookie of the Year, making him the second in a string of five consecutive Dodgers players to receive the award. He was also inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016.
