This double-sided racing tee celebrates the 1990 Grand Prix of Denver, which was sponsored that year by the cable television channel MTV. The Grand Prix of Denver was a Champ Car World Series or CCWS race, and it used to be held on a street circuit in the city of Denver. Colorado.
In 1990, the race was sanctioned by Championship Auto Racing Teams or CART and held near the Civic Center in downtown Denver. The winning driver for that year wound up being, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner, Al Usner Jr. who was driving for the Galles/Kraco Racing team. Usner also won the race the following year, before the event was put on hold until 2002, which is when it was resurrected as the Shell Grand Prix of Denver.
