This great graphic tee is to honor Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was a legendary guitarist that many regard as one of the most influential blues guitarist of all time.
Already very popular in his hometown of Dallas, Texas, in 1982 David Bowie discovered him and had him play on Bowie's 1983 album Let's Dance. This opportunity led to being signed with Epic Records. Over the next 7 years he became well known and in high demand in the blues scene. During the 80s, blues music was going through a bit of a second revival. In 1989 Stevie Ray Vaughan headlined at Madison Square Garden. He played at the legendary Beale Street Music Festival in 1990 on the same bill as Ray Charles, Etta James, and Ernie Isley.
His successful career was cut short, along with the members of his band Double Trouble on August 27, 1990 in a helicopter accident. The following year Texas governor Ann Richards declared his birthday October 3rd, Stevie Ray Vaughan Commemoration Day.
