This sweet long sleeved baseball shirt celebrates the 2000 World Series, often referred to as the Subway Series because it saw two iconic New York City teams facing off against each other. The New York Mets went up against the New York Yankees, in five games that were all accessible via the NYC subway, hence the series' nickname. This was not only the first World Series to feature two New York teams since 1956, but it was also the first since both the Giants and the Brooklyn Dodgers were relocated to California.

The Yankees wound up taking the series four games to one, and their victory was in part thanks to Hall of Fame players Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter, the latter of whom was also named MVP of the series.  The Yankees were also lead that season by Hall of Fame manager Joe Torre, who would later go on to serve as a special assistant to the Commissioner of Baseball.

Fits like a modern unisex adult over-sized large. This shirt is deadstock, unworn. Shirt has the same design as pictured, but may vary slightly as each item is unique.
