This awesome shirt was made by Obey, the iconic streetwear brand that was founded by Shepard Fairey in the early 2000s. This tee features an illustration from Fairey that's often referred to as Hammer, and the image perfectly exemplifies Fairey's signature graphic style. Fairey first gained notoriety through a street art campaign featuring a portrait of Andre the Giant that was ominously juxtaposed next to text that simply said "OBEY". This Hammer design prominently features the Obey Star, which combines that original viral image with a red star often associated with communist Russia. The design also borrows imagery from the constructivist propaganda posters that were often seen during the Russian Revolution.
