This awesome promotional tee was made for the movie Reservoir Dogs directed by Quentin Tarantino. The 1992 heist movie served as Tarantino's directorial debut, and it remains a highly regarded independent film. Tarantino had been working as a video store clerk, and he originally planned to shoot the movie with some friends on a meager budget of just $30,000. The script later wound up in the hands of Harvey Keital, after Tarantino's producing partner Lawrence Bender gave a copy to his acting teacher. Keital liked the story so much that he called Tarantino to ask not only if he could be in the movie, but also help produce it, and with his help they were able to hold casting sessions in New York, where they found the film's other stars: Steve Buscemi, Michael Madsen, and Tim Roth.
Despite garnering some criticism for its graphic violence and profanity, Reservoir Dogs grew into a beloved cult hit. The movie also established several elements that would eventually become signature motifs of Tarantino's works. This included things like nonlinear storytelling, pop culture references, crime, and profanity.
