It's finally opening weekend of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!I got my ticket for Friday night and I'm chomping at the bit to see some cosplay at my local cineplex. I read today, though, that major chains AMC Theaters, Cinemark and Regal Cinema have enacted some strict restrictions, er, safety guidelines, on cosplay at their theaters this December. You might want to opt for one of our authentic vintage Star Wars t-shirts instead...
Here's AMC's official statement:
"AMC does not permit weapons or items that would make other guests feel uncomfortable or detract from the movie-going experience. Guests are welcome to come dressed in costume, but we do not permit masks. In short, bring your lightsaber, turn it off during the movie, and leave the blaster and Darth Vader mask at home."
