T-shirt Tuesday - Cameo Word Up!

cameo word up
This t-shirt Tuesday, there is nothing else to say but Word UP!  Really, there is no other band from the 80s that funk rocks like Cameo; they are almost in a class of their own! I dare you to not be tapping your foot along to word up!
And what better way to say word up than with this amazing, Cameo Word Up t-shirt from the 1987 world tour!  Do your dance, do you dance, tell me what's the word, WORD UP!

T-SHIRT TUESDAY - GARTH ALGAR APPROVED

Today for T-Shirt Tuesday we present this Garth Algar approved Aerosmith t-shirt from their 1988 Aero Force One Tour! The shirt's become a kind of cult classic, just like the 1992 film in which it appears. It's the foundation of Garth's signature look: Converse, ripped jeans, rock t-shirt, plaid flannel (optional), black horn-rimmed glasses, messy blond mop. Observe:

T-SHIRT TUESDAY - King Bacchus

'Tis Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras, and there's still a few hours left (on the East Coast, at least) to get your vices on before the ritual fasting begins tomorrow! T-SHIRT TUESDAY - The Great American Choral Festival

Well folks, you asked for it and we answered. A compilation of the best/worst school choir performances from the 1980s, inspired by this swell new arrival

Before we begin, I'll just set the mood with this great shot from the spring of '82 of Fest competitors from the St. Louis Children's Choir. It seems the Great American Choral Festival is no longer in action - but, don't sweat vocally gifted teens and tweens - I'm sure in the age of Glee there's plenty of other events in which to compete! However, they will likely have none of the pizazz of these matching outfits or original Fest logo...

T-SHIRT TUESDAY - I Survived Hurricane Iwa

Welp, we're finally experiencing some winter weather here in the Northeast, and I can't say I love it. It's the time of year for fantasizing about tropical climates, like those fair Hawaiian Islands I've never been to. The truth is, I hate to sweat and I'm scared to death of natural disasters. And, Hawaii's paradise comes with a whole heck of a lot of devastation, historically speaking.
