This awesome vintage shirt features the logo for Billy Beer. This unique brand of beer first appeared in 1977 and was produced by the Falls City Brewing Company based out of Louisville, Kentucky. The beer gained notoriety due to its endorsement by Billy Carter, who was the brother of the then President Jimmy Carter. Falls City was looking to capitalize off of Billy's image as the "beer-drinking black sheep of the Carter family". In order to fulfill the national demand of the beer, Falls City recruited Cold Spring Brewing Company, Pearl Brewing Company, and West End Brewing Company to also produce and package Billy Beer. Each can of beer included a signature and endorsement from Carter which read, "I had this beer brewed up just for me. I think it's the best I ever tasted. And I've tasted a lot. I think you'll like it too". This was despite knowledge that Carter preferred Pabst as his beer of choice.
After production of the beer had stopped, advertisements began popping up in newspapers, offering to sell any remaining Billy Beer cans for hundreds to thousands of dollars. People were attempting to capitalize off of the cans' perceived rarity. However cans of Billy Beer had been produced in the millions and it was revealed in 1981 that the real value of Billy Beer was closer to 50 cents to a dollar.
