Schlitz Beer is made by the Joseph Schlitz brewing Company based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is known as "the beer that made Milwaukee famous". Schlitz became the largest producer of beer in the US in 1902 and competed with Anheuser-Busch for the title throughout the 1950s. Schlitz was eventually acquired by the Pabst Brewing Company.
