This amazing double-sided concert tee comes from the 1988 promotional tour for AC/DC's eleventh studio album, Blow Up Your Video. Both the front and the back of this tee features a heat seeking missile pod, which was a prominent prop used during the opening of all the North American shows. During that leg, the concert opened with the missile rising up into the stage as the band launched into the lead single off the album, "Heatseeker".
Blow Up Your Video, was the band's most commercially successful album since the release of For Those About to Rock We Salute You in 1981. It wound up going platinum and sparking a renewed interest in the band during the early 90s. The album also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental.
The North American leg was the final leg of the concert tour, and during it band co-founder, Malcolm Young was replaced by his nephew Stevie Young. This was so the musician could attend AA and get his alcoholism under control. Young felt this was more important than finishing out the tour, especially considering the tragic loss of his friend and former lead singer, Bon Scott several years prior.
