This sweet vintage Adidas shirt features the brand's iconic trefoil logo on both the back and the front of the tee. Adidas is one of the largest sportswear companies in the world, second only to their rivals Nike. The history of the company dates all the way back to the 1920s when the Dassler brothers began developing their own brand of athletic shoes. While Rudolf Dassler went on to create Puma, Adi Dassler established Adidas.
Adidas is known for their famous three stripe branding, so much so that Dassler used to describe his brand as "The three stripes company". In fact it wasn't uncommon for other apparel brands to sometimes try and copy the three stripe look to capitalize on Adidas' popularity.
This shirt was made in the 80s, when Adidas was particularly popular among fans of streetwear and hip hop culture. Golden era rap group, Run D.M.C. even went so far as to record a song titled "My Adidas", which eventually landed them a sponsorship deal with the company.
The tag says medium but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult small. There is a repair on the front, see pics.
