This vintage tee is an original keepsake from 91X radio station circa 1980s, when they were known as "Rock of the 80s." Prior to switching to a rock format, 91X was known as XETRA-FM. January 11, 1983 marked the surprise that no one saw coming. Their consultant Rick Carroll showed up at 3pm that day, introduced himself, and told them 80s rock was their new format.
The station was owned by Local Media San Diego in California, but broadcasted from the other side of the Mexican border in Tijuana, Baja California. The radio crew initially had a few kinks to work out and took a bit to become familiar the new variety of music.
DJ Todd Ralston aka Mad Max played their first transition song "Sex" by Berlin at 6pm Jan 11, 1983 and everything took off from there. Throughout the this decades and the 90s, 91X was one of the most influential and top rated alternative radio stations in the USA.
Tag says large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult medium.
