This light blue vintage t-shirt is for the Nintendo Entertainment System game Super Mario Brothers 2. The shirt has an image of Mario holding a mushroom, Princess Peach, Luigi and Toad running away from a bob-omb.

The Super Mario Bros. 2 game originated as a two player cooperative prototype, but was later changed to the Yumi Kojo: Doki Doki Panic. The change was meant to match the game's characters and themes with the Fuji Television Media Expo titled Yumi Kojo. Nintendo of America found that the Doki Doki Panic version of the game was too difficult, and not different enough from the original Super Mario Bros., and converted the game back to Super Mario Bros. 2.

The game had the same engine as the original Super Mario Bros. only with more complex levels and the added ability to pick items up. Super Mario Bros. 2 was released in North America in October of 1988 for the NES. The game was so popular that Nintendo re-released the game in Japan for the Family Computer (Famicom) as Super Mario USA.

Eventually the game was absorbed into Super Mario All-Stars on the Super NES which was a compilation of the older NES/Famicom Mario games. Super Mario Bros. 2 appeared again for the Gameboy Advanced, in the game Super Mario Advance in 2001.
