This amazing vintage t-shirt promotes the 1995 movie based off the iconic Mortal Kombat video game franchise. Mortal Kombat started as fantasy fighting game developed by Midway Games in 1992. The 2D arcade game featured a variety of characters with different special moves and it was the first fighting game to introduce the concept of a secret fighter that could only be unlocked if a specific set of requirements was completed.
The 1995 movie took the basic storyline of the original Mortal Kombat game, as well as some elements from Mortal Kombat II to create a storyline detailing a group of heroes participating in the eponymous Mortal Kombat tournament. The movie brought to life several of the franchise's memorable characters including Johnny Cage, Raiden, Liu Kang, Reptile, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, Sonya Blade, Kitana, Kano, and Scorpion. The movie was met with sub-par reviews, but has since gained a cult classic status and fans often overlook its flimsy plot in favor of its impressive fight scenes. These sequences are particularly notable considering that the cast performed the majority of their own stunts in the film.
The film has also been praised for its fantastical setting. The movie was shot in Thailand and the locations were so remote that they could only be accessed by boat. During production an outhouse was built near the set, so that the crew wouldn't have to make trips to and from the mainland every time they needed to use the restroom.
Fits like a modern unisex adult Extra Large. There are paint stains on the front near the bottom and discoloration near the collar, see pics.
