This cool shirt advertises the Los Angeles based radio station KQLZ, better known as Pirate Radio 100.3 FM. The station was launched at the end of the 80s, and programmed by Scott Shannon, who had recently moved from his job working for the Z100 station in New York City. When Pirate Radio made its debut, it kicked off with Guns N' Roses' iconic hit "Welcome to the Jungle", and the song title became somewhat of a slogan for the station, appearing on various promotional material. During Pirate Radio's time on air, the station broadcast an eclectic mix of top 40 pop hits, alternative rock, and heavy metal, and in addition to Shannon, on-air personalities included Shadow Steele and Jimmy Page.
