This vintage tee commemorates the 1983 Wet Down celebrated by the Tallman Volunteer Fire Department in New York. A wet down is a ritual done by volunteer fire depts all across the country whenever they get a new fire truck. The new fire apparatus would get a nice spray down from neighboring fire squads as a symbolic gesture of preparing it for duty. This practice dates back to the 1800s when firefighters used horses to pull their equipment. After putting out a fire, crews would wash their horses and prepare for the next mission.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. Double sided print.
