This white graphic t-shirt celebrates the popular onion flavored snack food, Funyuns. These ring shaped chips, were invented by the Frito-Lay company back in 1969 as a quick alternative to fried onion rings. The snack is made using cornmeal, and then a salt and onion mix is added to give them their signature flavor.
Funyuns were originally intended to be called OnYums, until it was discovered that this name already belonged to a product belonging to Rudolph Foods. The name Funyuns was instead created by Jim Albright, who worked as a copywriter and professor at the University of North Texas.
