This shirt from the African Street Festival of 1990, the year of Nelson Mandela's historic visit to New York City. The front graphic features Mandela raising his fist as the black power symbol over the African continent. Below, it reads, "SiMunye," the Zulu word meaning "we are one." On the backside of this shirt, this message is repeated and honored by listing the names of past Zulu kings, South African apartheid activists, as well as some black leaders across the African diaspora. Among the most well-known are Shaka Zulu, Marcus Garvey, David Sibeko, and Lillian Ngoyi.
This shirt fits like a modern unisex adult extra large.
