This distressed vintage concert tee comes from the Califfornia World Music Festival of 1979. The festival took place on April 7th and 8th at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Despite having the title of World Music Festival, the line-up consisted mostly of rock musicians with legendary music icons like Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, and Van Halen performing as headliners.
Stoner comedy duo Cheech and Chong of Up In Smoke acted as MC's both nights of the festival. Los Angeles' own rock legends Toto, who had only been established for a few years at the time, were another crowd favorite, as was more established acts like REO Speedwagon and AC/DC .
Outside of music and comedy performances, the festival provided activities for concert-goers like a rock n roll movie theater, skateboard exhibitions, and arts and craft stations. Los Angeles' most popular progressive rock station Kmet 94.7 presented the festival, along with revolutionary arena rock concert promoter Jim Rissmiller of the Wolf and Rissmiller company.
