This awesome vintage tour tee is from English rock band Asia and the tour which promoted their debut album in 1982. The album was named after the band and this t-shirt's design features a sweet graphic of a sea serpent splashing out of the ocean to gaze at a large pearl. This same image, which was created by Roger Dean, also served as the cover art for the album. Dean was known for his work for bands like Asia and Yes. The shirt is a jersey style with raglan three-quarter black sleeves.
Their debut album was a huge commercial success for the band. It reached the top position in the US charts and stayed their for six consecutive weeks. In America alone Asia sold four million album copies. Much of their success came from their hit single "Heat Of The Moment". The song had a very popular music video that was played repeatedly on MTV, and it also reached the number one spot on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. On tour, Asia had to move their concerts to large arenas to accommodate their incredible popularity and ticket sells. Unfortunately after their first album and tour, Asia never quite saw the same commercial success.
