This awesome vintage punk t-shirt is for the band Fear for their 1985 album More Beer. Fear was formed in the late 70s in Los Angels, and they are credited with helping to shape the sound of California hardcore. The group gained national recognition in the early 80s when they appeared as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live. They had previously been featured in the documentary The Decline of Western Civilization which was directed by Penelope Spheeris. At the time, Spheeris was married to Slash Records president Bob Biggs, and the band's involvement eventually lead to a recording contract with Slash Records. Their appearance in the film also attracted the attention of actor John Belushi.
Belushi originally wanted to feature the band on the soundtrack for his movie Neighbors, but instead landed them a gig on SNL. The performance involved slam dancers that included Belushi, Ian Mackaye of Minor Threat, Tesco Vee of Meatman, Harley Flanagan and John Joseph of the Cro-Mags, and John Brannon of Negative Approach. The resulting performance ended up costing $20,000 in property damage and discouraged several clubs from hiring the band.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. This shirt is distressed. It is very soft and thin with seveal holes, a cut neck, and cut sleeves, see pics.
