This cool raglan tee is for the southern rock band 38 Special and it commemorates their sixth studio album Tour de Force which was released by A&M Records in 1983. The album followed the release Special Forces, which contained the top ten hit "Caught Up in You". Tour de Force featured it's own smash hit, "If I'd Been the One" which topped the Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart. The following year 38 Special toured with Huey Lewis and the News just as their career was starting to take off.

38 Special was formed in 1974 by the younger brother of Lynyrd Skynyrd founder Ronnie Van Zant, Donnie Van Zant, and his neighborhood friend Don Barnes. They got their name from an incident in which the band was practicing in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. Police soon arrived after locals complained about the noise, but the band couldn't come out because there was a padlock on the door. One cop's response was, "That's all right. We'll let this .38 special do the talking" before shooting off the lock.
