This sweet shirt commemorates the 1996 World Series which pitted the New York Yankees against the defending World Series champions, the Atlanta Braves. New York fans were nervous when the Yankees wound up losing the first two games of the series, both of which were on their home turf of Yankee Stadium. The Yankees wound up pulling through however, as they went on to win the next four games and the World Series title. This was the Yankees' first World Series victory since 1978, and the MVP award was given to relief pitcher John Wetteland. Wetteland wound up saving all four of the team's winning games.
